If home is where the heart is, then Dan Haren’s heart is very clearly in Southern California.
After the Los Angeles Dodgers sent him in a blockbuster deal to the Miami Marlins, Dan Haren is apparently “holding out hope” for a trade to the Los Angeles Angels or San Diego Padres.
It wouldn’t be a huge surprise for San Diego to add Haren after the kind of offseason they’ve been having, but Haren is well past his prime and isn’t viewed as a big target for any team.
It’s an unrealistic assumption for Haren to be traded to the Angels, as they need a much more significant improvement to their rotation then what Haren can be.
Haren told ESPN Los Angeles in November that he has “no interest in playing in a city away from my family” and may be retiring very soon.
